In mijn pubertijdsjaren werd ik geconfronteerd met de<br> ongeneeslijke spierziekte Ataxie van Friedreich. Ik begon destijds moeilijker te lopen<br> en mijn motorische beperkingen namen toe. Op mijn vijftiende moest ik<br> noodgedwongen stoppen met mijn grootste hobby: voetballen. Door de progressie<br> van mijn aandoening ging het lopen verder achteruit. Rond mijn twintigste belandde<br> ik in mijn eerste rolstoel. Het begin van een erg moeilijke periode, die ik met veel en<br> goede hulp van ouders, familie en vrienden ben doorgekomen.<br> In 2018 heb ik samen met Mathon van Eijsden IRONMAN Maastricht volbracht.<br> IRONMAN is een lange afstand triatlon die bestaat uit 3,8 kilometer Zwemmen, 180<br> kilometer fietsen en vervolgens 42 kilometer hardlopen. We deden dit voor het goede<br> doel onder de naam Team Super-Maan.<br> Vervolgens hebben we samen met Anne nog meegedaan met de halve marathon<br> van Amsterdam en in 2019 de halve marathon \u201cde groene loper\u201d van Maastricht.<br> De donatie van Mathon gaat naar de spierziekte A.L.S. Mijn donatie gaat naar<br> onderzoek naar mijn spierziekte Ataxie van Friedreich.<br> Ik heb een bedrag van \u20ac39.500 opgehaald.
